| Apart from the rainforest vegetation the shifting sand dunes of Fraser Island are part of the main attractions. Therefor Fraser Island is known as "Great Sandy Island". This dunes is found next to one of the most famous lakes called Lake Wabby, which consists of very clear water like all the other lakes as well. The dunes move a few meters per year and cover the surface vegetation. On the picture you see the top of a tree, still reaching the sky. | |||
