| Townsville is the fourth biggest city of Queensland. It has the role of being export harbour for agricultural and mining products from the inner parts of the country. The main road connection between Queensland and the Northern Territory is starting from Townsville and this city is the only place from where the ferries run to Magnetic Island (see background). Magnetic Island is one of the bigger reef islands and is famous for nice beaches, good opportunities for hiking and wildlife experiences and as well for a certain laid-back atmosphere. | |||
