The maiden flight of the Flying Doctors was done by Hudson Fysh in 1928.
The missionary John Flynn claimed the independence from the state and church
and so helped the Flying Doctors become a successful institution. Alice Springs
is one of fourteen air bases in whole Australia. On about 9.000 flights a year the
Flying Doctors of Alice Springs carry about 5.000 patients and in addition they
help about 10.000 people by radio. |
