Litchfield Nationalpark is situated about 140 kilometers from Darwin and
consists of a sandstone plateau. Several waterfalls found their ways across the cliffs
of this plateau. The park stretches over 650 square kilometers and is partly covered
with rainforest vegetation. The most famous waterfalls are Florence Falls and
Wangi Falls where you can go for a swim after one of the various bushwalks
that are offered. Another attraction are the so-called magnetic termite mounds. |
