closest town(s): Hawker, Quorn
The Flinders Ranges reach from the northern part of St Vincent Gulf along 400 kilometers into the mainland.
They are part of some of Australia's most diverse landscapes and are hence established with spectacular walking
trails. An interesting place is Wilpena Pound which is seperated from the surrounding area by walls up to 500
meters high. The nationalpark is habit to many species of kangaroos and birds. One highlight is Brachina Gorge,
where on one hand you can often observe animals and on the other hand you can drive along an interesting
geological trail. Probalbly the most famous walking track starting from the Visitor Center is the way to St Marys Peak.
