Australiens Nationalhymne trägt den Titel Advance Australia Fair und wurde im Jahre 1977 per Referendum offiziell als Nationalhymne anerkannt (MIDI-File Download, 4,2KB). Der Text stammt aus dem Jahre 1884 und ist umstritten, weil zum einen die Aborigines als Ureinwohner keine Beachtung finden und zum anderen die Britische Ausrichtung der zweiten Strophe vielen Bürgern zu weit geht. Letzteres ist der Grund dafür, daß die zweite Strophe oftmals nicht gesungen wird:
